About Me
I am a licensed clinical social worker and Assistant Professor for the Rutgers University Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Counseling Professions. I consult with the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services to prepare agencies for the transition to a Medicaid covered service, Community Support Services (CSS). As a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner, I am passionate about helping individuals living with mental illnesses and teaching others about psychiatric rehabilitation. In 2012, I received an award for Outstanding Contribution to Psychiatric Rehabilitation Education. I present at local, state, and national conferences on topics related to Medicaid covered services and psychiatric rehabilitation methods and practices. I also provide clinical services for a crisis intervention program and a group practice. This clinical work helps inform some of my additional teaching with the Rutgers School of Social Work. I have also worked in community mental health providing direct care and supervision to a multidisciplinary team.
